In good hands
— Kristina Dorsey
If you want to see just how wildly creative some people are, head to the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center in Waterford this weekend for performances during the O’Neill’s National Puppetry Conference.
Puppetry works created by guest artists and artists-in-residence are featured in shows on Friday and Saturday.
As part of the conference, the public has been able to stream some virtual masterclasses. Among the acclaimed artists who have been teaching those masterclasses: Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, who has won five Emmys and is best-known for performing Abby Cadabby and Tango on “Sesame Street,” and Fabrizio Montecchi, an Italian director and set designer who has done boundary-breaking work on the development of contemporary shadow theater.
Puppetry Performances, 7 p.m. Fri. and Sat., Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, 305 Great Neck Road, Waterford; $33; theoneill.org.
